GRETCHEN MATKIN, OWNER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Gretchen Matkin is the Owner & Creative Director of the popular home-design store, Maggie’s of Madison established in 2004 and well known design leader on the Connecticut shoreline. A third generation in luxury design, Gretchen has been celebrated for her business acumen and collaborative work serving as a design advocate between architects, sub-contractors, and the homeowner. As an interior storyteller, Gretchen believes that each space should reflect the personality of the homeowner and home should be a celebration with little luxuries scattered throughout.
When not designing Gretchen loves reading, exploring new areas in New England with friends and spending time with her husband and three kids, going to yoga and traveling for rejuvenation & inspiration.
KEIRA SCHWARZ, LEAD DESIGNER
Keira joined the staff of Maggies in 2016 as a design assistant. Bringing skills from her work in design in New York City, Keira has played an important role in projects large and small. As the business and staff has expanded, Keira has grown into the position of Lead Designer focusing on client and vendor communication as well as creative design and administration. Keira looks forward to continuing to make beautiful, livable happy homes for all our clients.
In her spare time, Keira attends many youth sporting events, cooks for an army, and goes on long hikes though the woods with her husband.
LIZ O’MALLEY, OPERATIONS MANAGER
Liz O'Malley is our operations manager but she is so much more than that to us. Not only has she harnessed and contained all the limitless paperwork and endless follow up that is the reality of interior design, she has also made our studio itself more organized and our lives run a bit more smoothly. Despite being over qualified and having a big family life, Liz does her job with such ease we can’t imagine how we got by without her.
Liz loves to cook and bake for her family and sit down every evening to share a meal and the news of the day. She has two lively dogs that she loves and attends to like humans!
KATHERINE MANSFIELD, DESIGNER & SHOP MANAGER
While living in Ireland, Katherine earned her Interior Design degree and owned a shop full of curiosities, goods from local artisans, and quilting instruction. When she returned to the US, Katherine worked at a bespoke furniture maker in CT. She joins Maggie’s with a vast background in design and furniture. Katherine’s clients love her enthusiasm for fabric and textiles and appreciate her unique point of view.
Katherine loves to garden and is always planning her next planting endeavor. She has a long history of sewing and quilting and has a beautiful fabric library of her own. She cooks many traditional meals for her Irish husband and two kids and occasionally enjoys a nibble of really good chocolate!
COLLEEN MULLALY, DESIGN ASSISTANT & SALES ASSOCIATE
Colleen joins Maggie’s with many years of retail experience as an owner of a retail & design shop on Cape Cod. Her positive, easy nature and love of the business is the perfect addition to Maggie’s.
As an avid gym goer Colleen enjoys a daily workout and cycling, gardening and being a sous chef to her chef husband.
